Martin Schoeller has photographed many of the world’s most famous faces from Barack Obama to George Clooney, as well as some of the world’s most unknown. His stark, arresting portraits have graced the covers and pages of National Geographic, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Time, GQ and more. In May 2016, Martin Schoeller travelled to the field to meet Acumen's customers. In “Faces of Acumen,” he applies his style of photography to create up-close-and personal portraits of Acumen’s customers, pushing audiences to see the poor as individual human beings while simultaneously changing the visual narrative of how poverty is depicted.
